The warmest associations are associated with a flower called a rose. It belongs to the genus Rosehip, grown by man. In ancient Rome, roses decorated houses of only very rich people, but over time the plants became more accessible and popular all over the world. Previously, they were a symbol of morality and a reward for courage. The current variety of varieties of these plants was obtained as a result of long-term selection. We will talk about Rose Piano.
Seeding conditions and care
For hybrid tea, black soil is considered the best soil. They also live well on loams. They like sunny places, preferring partial shade. They need lighted spaces that are protected from strong winds.
Planting density - 3-5 pieces per square. m. Roses Piano will grow well in drained soil with fertile soil. If there is abundant flowering, then need a garter bushes to the support. Roses should be regularly fed, after completion of flowering, the buds should be removed. For the winter, plants require shelter, but it is worth noting that their cold resistance is high. There is a good resistance to diseases, such as powdery mildew and black spot. As a stock, you can use roses Rugosa or Kanina. The plant is supplied, as a rule, in the form of a grafted seedling with a bare root system.
Rose Piano: application
Due to the fact that the flowers have tall stems, they look great in vases. The rose looks very impressive both in single plantings, and in flower arrangements and rose gardens. Since it, as a rule, has abundant flowering, the bushes look very impressive, as if lush bouquets of vintage roses. Shiny greens are well set off magnificent buds. Rose Piano will be a real decoration of any garden: its gorgeous buds on a high stem will look unusual and bright.
Rose Piano has the following varieties:
- Wedding piano with creamy white flowers.
- Freeland Piano with bright scarlet flowers.
- Bridal Piano - flowers gently pink.
- Happy piano - pink.
- Charming Piano - light pink with a greenish tinge.
- Rose Red Piano (Ed.) - maroon.
All species of this variety have large flowers.about ten centimeters in diameter. The flowers are very similar in shape to the peonies. The unopened bud has a spherical shape, when blooming it looks like a bowl with wavy petals.
This rose is covered with single flowers and buds in the form of umbrellas with several flowers, usually from three to seven pieces. Flowers smell very nice raspberries.
The bush is round, about a meter in height and half a meter in width. The leaves are green with a glossy surface. Rose blooms almost constantly and because of this it looks just great.
The plant is considered resistant to many common diseases., tolerates even the most severe frosts, does not suffer from rain and wind, and also does not dry in direct sunlight.
Planting and care
The place for the plant should be sunny. For good flowering, the rose needs sunlight at least 4 hours a day. The plant should not be planted in a draft.
The soil for the plant must be pre-fed. You can use humus, compost or horse manure.
So, starting to plant, you must dig a hole, about a meter in diameter and half a meter deep. The plant has quite powerful roots and they will easily master the allocated space. At the bottom of the hole must be a drainage layer. This layer must be sprinkled with sand.
What will be a bush, depends on which sapling was chosen. It is best to buy plants for planting in specialized stores or nurseries. The price of one seedling can be different, from five hundred rubles to three thousand.
Before planting, the root system of roses must be treated with growth stimulants. Next you need to carefully lower the plant into the hole and sprinkle with earth.
Watering and feeding
Watering should be done when the ground is slightly dried. In no case should it dry thoroughly.
But overdoing is also not worth it, otherwise you can lead to rotting of the root system. It is necessary to water with warm water and after sunset. The soil, at the same time, you need to regularly loosen and mulch.
Water volumes should be approximately as follows:
- for a young plant - about 6 liters of water in one irrigation,
- for an adult plant about 15 liters.
For a lush and long flowering period, the plant needs to be fed, and this rose especially. Top dressing is made according to the following rules:
- nitrogen fertilizers are applied in May,
- in June - calcium and phosphorus,
- in September - potassium.
It should be borne in mind that Piano is forbidden to overfeed, otherwise it will turn yellow and throw off the foliage.
Prevention of possible diseases and pests
To increase plant resistance to various diseases, it is necessary to treat it in the spring with the Epin agent, as well as with a solution of copper sulphate. These manipulations will save the bush from fungus and black spots.
Strong torrential rains during flowering can spoil the flowers and buds just rot. In such a situation, it is better to remove the buds in order not to spread rot and mold to the whole plant.
Insects do not like this rose and rarely hit it., but if this happens, the florist must react very quickly and begin to deal with them.
A soap solution or special preparations for aphids will help to cope with the aphids.
Damaged foliage of the plant indicates the presence of caterpillars and beetles, which can be destroyed by insecticide.
In hot weather, the plant may be affected by a spider mite, the presence of which can be identified by a white patina on the leaves. Tick is destroyed by insecticides.
Pruning and shaping the bush
With the help of pruning you can create a beautiful and neat bush. Shoots that are knocked out of the overall shape, you need to cut. Also removed old and bad shoots. Everything is done in springimmediately after removing the shelter for wintering.
In the summer you need to cut dry flowers and cut shoots that do not have buds.
Preparing for the winter
Rose Piano declared as frost-resistantbut it’s not worth the risk, as with very strong frost it may not resist.
Already in autumn it is necessary to sprinkle the bush with sawdust and dry soil, about half a meter in height. Next above the bush you need to build a kind of hut of straw or foam. The film is strictly prohibited to use, as the bush will rot and rot under it.
The most effective method is considered rooting cuttings. You can propagate the plant by grafting on dogrose, as well as the usual division. But such methods do not guarantee obtaining the same bush with the same characteristics.
It is necessary to divide a bush in April, when there is no snow on the soil, but the plant is still sleeping. The bush is not fully dug out, but only a small part is cut off. At a sapling it is necessary to cut off roots and to plant in previously prepared hole.
The method of rooting cuttings is also effective. This is done in June. You need to choose a long escape, which was formed last year. It should be thicker and darker than others. The branch goes deep into the hole near the plant.
In the part laid in the ground, it is necessary to make cuts in order to form roots more easily. This escape must be fixed to the slingshot. The landing site should be regularly moistened and by the autumn the layering will be accepted. The new rose is also sheltered for the winter, but only with the next maternal plant. In the spring of a new bush can be transplanted.
Rose Piano in landscape design
This rose is very loved by landscape designers for its elegance and english style. This shrub is excellently adjacent to any other shrub plants.
Like a single bush, it also looks very beautiful, but in group ensembles it is especially beautiful. The combination of varieties of this rose, which are planted in one garden flowerbed, looks impressive.
To get pink thickets blooming in different colors, you need to plant bushes in the form of a triangle. Roses of different shades, but close to each other, are well combined among themselves. Just amazing this rose looks on the lawn grass.
Rose Piano was bred by German breeders in 2007. At the same time, the description and characteristics of the variety were officially published. Since then, similar varieties of roses have been bred, in the name of which the word “Piano” was present. They have similar characteristics and differ only in flower color. After that, the original name "Piano" began to add the word "Red" to indicate the specific color of the buds - red. Therefore, this variety is also called Piano Red.
It is interesting! In Russia, this rose is known as Piano, but sometimes it is called "Piano."
Hybrid tea Piano forms bushes (scrubs) that grow to a height of 1-1.3 meters. In width, each scrub reaches 0.5 m. Powerful shoots, whose thickness can reach 2 cm, densely covered with large dark green leaves with a glossy shine.
Piano is a re-flowering variety of roses. Flowering begins in June and continues until late autumn. From 3 to 8 buds are formed on each shoot. As they open, they form large, spherical flowers, the diameter of which depends on the age of the rose. In young specimens, flowers are small flowers: their diameter varies between 5-7 cm. In adult bushes, flowers reach 8-11 cm in diameter.
A distinctive feature of the Piano variety is the high density of petals colored in dark red saturated color. In each flower there are from 80 to 100 units. As it unfolds, the spherical shape of the flowers transforms into a cup. The color of the petals changes from dark red to salmon or crimson. The flowers have a bright aroma with fruit notes.
The grade differs in the increased resistance to fungal diseases. But the rose does not like rain: in cloudy and wet weather, the buds almost never blossom. But she was not afraid of a strong wind: because of the thick and powerful stems, she retains stability. Piano feels rather well in the hot summer and can survive in the winter at a temperature of up to -20 ... -23 o C. With the construction of a winter shelter, the shrub tolerates wintering well, even in the northern regions of Russia.
In the southern and middle regions of the country, Piano is used as a park rose. It looks great on city beds and in a private garden. It is planted as a single bushes, and in combination with other types of roses, other perennial flowering shrubs and some annuals. Because of the constantly forming buds, the rosebush looks great during the whole growing season. Flowers are also used for cutting: they can stand in vases with water for a long time and thin out the pleasant and delicate aroma of raspberries. Look at the photo: how beautifully the bouquet formed from the Piano roses is of dark red color.
Site selection and conditions of detention
Roses - demanding to the conditions of the plant. Without proper care, they will not please you with abundant and lush flowering. Let us find out what the rose of Piano needs, and how to care for it, so that it continually forms large red flower balls.
Lighting and location
Rose Piano loves to grow in areas well lit by the sun. It is not afraid of direct sunlight, and also grows well in conditions of light shade. But the ideal option - a place that is well lit by the sun from all sides throughout the day. Sunlight has a beneficial effect on the formation and blooming of buds and prevents the development of fungal infections.
Tip!If the question arises, from which side to put the Piano, from the east or from the west, it is better to plant in the east. The morning rays of the sun have the best effect on plant growth and contribute to the rapid drying of night dew, which is dangerous for roses due to the increased risk of fungal infections.
Rose Piano develops well and forms buds in the conditions of the Russian summer. But the most comfortable temperature for it is the range of + 18 ... + 22 o C. At lower temperatures, the growth of the shoots slows down, and in cool and wet weather, flowering stops. At temperatures above 26 ° C in conditions of high humidity, the risk of fungal infection of the rose bush increases sharply.
In winter, the Piano without shelter tolerates frosts down to -20 ° C. Therefore, in the northern latitudes and central Russia, where frosts fall below -30 ° C, the rose needs a special shelter. In the south of the country, it is great winters without him.
Air and humidity
Rose needs moderate humidity. If the air is too dry, the leaves and flowers of the plant may suffer: in some places they begin to fade and dry out. From this spoil the decorative qualities of the shrub.
Piano has powerful and thick shoots that perfectly resist strong wind. But cold drafts not in the best way affect the growth and development of rose bushes. Therefore, for planting roses, it is better to choose a closed, but well-ventilated area.
Piano variety planted in a well-drained and fertile soil with a neutral or slightly acid reaction. This type of rose prefers to grow on loamy soil or black soil.
Rose Piano requires special care. She needs the following procedures:
- Regular watering with settled water. 5-6 liters of water are poured at a time under a young bush, and from 10 to 12 for an adult. Watering frequency depends on the weather. In dry and hot weather, water should be watered more often (3-4 times a week), and on cloudy conditions less often (up to 1-2 times a week). In the rainy season, watering is suspended.
- Loosening after each watering. If one neglects this procedure, a hard crust forms on the surface of the ground. It stops the access of air to the roots, causing the plant to wither.
- Regular feeding. In the first half of the growing season, the rose needs nitrogen fertilizers more. During flowering in the shrub increases the need for potassium and phosphorus. Rose is fed with both organic and mineral fertilizers.
- Shaped pruning. To make the bushes look compact and beautiful, they need to be cut every spring. This removes the sick and damaged, as well as fattening shoots.
Tip!Despite the high resistance of the variety to fungal diseases, from time to time, prophylactic treatment with a fungicide solution should be carried out. Especially badly needed is a rose in the rainy season, when the air is heavily over-humidified.
Those who are already growing this rose in their garden, leave feedback on the forums on the Internet. Gardeners find it one of the most beautiful. Attracts this variety with its "old" flower forms: spherical semi-opened buds create a special romantic atmosphere. Beginners point out that Piano is not too whimsical in care. She rarely suffers, is not afraid of the wind, and formative pruning is very simple: you just need to remove the “wrong” growing shoots. And everyone mentions the intense raspberry fragrance, which is uncharacteristic of roses belonging to hybrid tea roses.
Soil preparation and planting
Place for planting roses Piano choose sunny or with light penumbra. For prolonged and abundant flowering it is necessary that the direct sun should fall on the bush for at least 3-4 hours a day. The bush should not suffer from wind gusts and drafts, otherwise the flowers will crumble.
For planting roses spray bush Piano area must be well fertilized with compost or rotted manure. The ideal option would be horse manure, which does not take nitrogen from the soil, and it feeds the roots
A hole 100 meters in diameter and 50-60 cm deep is dug under the Piano rose. The powerful root system of a bushy rose will develop in such a well rather quickly. At the bottom of the pit lay a layer of drainage, which is sprinkled with sand.
The success of growing a beautiful bush directly depends on the quality of planting material. Rose Piano seedlings can be purchased at specialized online stores or nurseries - rosaries. The price of Piano rose seedlings varies from 500 rubles to 2-3 thousand rubles per copy.
The roots of roses before planting process drugs Athlete or Zircon to stimulate growth and development. The seedling is placed in a hole and sprinkled with soil.
Important. The plant should be buried 10 cm below the previous level into the soil. Such a method of planting will save the rose from freezing in the winter.
Watering and fertilizer
Piano rose is poured as needed, so that the soil is always slightly moist.
The frequency of watering roses depends on the condition of the soil. It is necessary to keep it slightly moist, but not wet. Excess moisture is detrimental to peony roses. Watering with warm, separated water is carried out in the evening to avoid increased evaporation. In order for the water to reach the depth of the roots, watering should be combined with regular loosening of the soil and thorough mulching of the surface.
It is recommended to spend 5-6 liters of water for one irrigation on a young bush; an adult who has grown a bush needs at least 12-15 liters. So that the water does not spread over the surface and is actively absorbed into the soil, an earthen roller is made around the bush.
Для продолжительного и обильного цветения розу Пиано нужно регулярно снабжать питательными веществами, поскольку этот сорт особенно чувствителен к недостатку питательных веществ.
Feeding is carried out every two weeks in a moist soil according to the following scheme:
- May - the beginning of June - nitrogen compounds.
- June - August - phosphoric - calcium.
- September - foliar top dressing with potassium sulfate (1 spoon per 8 liters of water) and root phosphorous composition.
At this time, it is impossible to apply fertilizer to the soil in which nitrogen is present, otherwise the rose will start to let new shoots that do not have time to get stronger by the winter and freeze.
Important. Rosa Piano can not overfeed. With an excess of nutrients, it will begin to turn yellow and shed its leaves.
Treat your rose Piano, Fundazole or Oxyhom to protect it from powdery mildew.
Rosa Piano is practically not affected by diseases, but to increase the plant's immunity, it is recommended to treat it with Epin in the spring. In cold and rainy weather, you can sprinkle the rose with blue vitriol solution, Fundazol or Oxyhom. This will help protect it from the possible appearance of powdery mildew and black spot.
Heavy and prolonged rains during the period of active flowering of roses will lead to deterioration of flowers. Dense buds, in which moisture is delayed, begin to rot. In this case, they are better cut and disposed of, so that they do not become a source of mold spread to the entire bush.
Rose Piano Pests
According to flower growers, the rose Piano does not like insects - pests, and they rarely attack the bush. In some cases, pests do appear and it is necessary to take timely measures to eliminate them.
- If the shoots are covered with rosacea aphid - it should be washed off with a soap solution, and then spray the bush with Alatar and Actellic.
- Damage to the leaves of roses say about the appearance of caterpillars, beetles, larvae of sawflies. You can destroy them with any systemic insecticide (Spark, Inta-vir, Komandor, etc.).
- If the weather is very hot and dry, a spider mite can strike a rose., the appearance of which is evidenced by a white, similar to a small cobweb plaque on the leaves. You can destroy the pest by any insecticide.
Get a neat, rounded shape of the rose bush Piano is possible only with proper pruning. If some shoots are knocked out of the general form of a bush, they need to be cut. Old and diseased shoots are cut regularly. All the rest are cut by a third to give the bush the desired shape. All these procedures are recommended in the spring, after removing the winter shelters.
Pruning roses Piano spend the spring.
In the summer, it is recommended to remove the withering flowers and cut off the stems that do not have flower buds.
Rosa Piano is rather cold-resistant, however, in conditions of severe frosts, it will not be able to winter without shelters. Therefore, when the first frost occurs, the base of the bush is covered with a mixture of sawdust, humus and dry soil to a height of 40 centimeters. After this, a hut made of spruce branches or straw is set over the bush.
Council It is very convenient to use for hiding roses polystyrene caps. Under such a shelter bush will be dry and warm. The cover film cannot be applied, under it the bush will begin to grind and by the spring will rot.
The use of roses Piano in landscape design
Using the Piano rose in the garden allows you to give it an elegant, close to the English style. The lush, leafy bush of this rose goes well with any flowers and shrubs.
Rose Piano looks great both in single cultivation and in group plantings. The combination of different flowers of roses of this group, planted on the same flowerbed or along the garden paths will be effective.
From the bush of the Rose Piano you can create sculptural figures.
Planting these roses a triangle at a distance of half a meter from each other allows you to get blooming thickets. For such plantings it is recommended to use a rose of similar shades. Such flowering islands from groups of 3 roses will look great on the surface of the lawn.
Rose Piano allows you to create sculptural forms from the bush, but to create them you need to have some proper pruning skills.
Rose Piano can be planted in tubs or flowerpots, using them to decorate open verandas, the porch of the house. With this method of growing for the winter, the bushes are added to the flowerbed and covered in the same way as the specimens grown in the ground. In the spring the plant is again placed in a container. This should be done before the rose Piano buds awaken.

Use in landscape design
Park roses are actively used in vertical gardening. and are ideal for creating hedges. Look great in both single and group landings.
- For the device of hedges select varieties with hardy stems and thick branches that can create a wall of high density.
- For vertical gardening, roses are used for climbing or liana-like varieties that can twist around complex supports.
What should be the soil?
To the soil park rose is not whimsical. It will fit almost any, but the best for the plant is clay with a high content of humus. Heavy ground on the plot can be improved by adding peat or compost. Too light soil can be optimized by adding sod land.
- Sowing seeds in the ground occurs in June.
- Each seed should be placed in the hole, 4 cm deep at a distance of 20 cm from each other.
- The first shoots will appear in two weeks.
When growing roses from seeds, you can use the seedling method:
- Seeds are sown in special peat pots in February.
- The seedlings are planted in the ground in the same pots.
How to multiply?
The easiest way to grow a park rose is rooting cuttings. This is done as follows:
- Annual shoots are laid in the grooves dug near the bush in spring.
- On the nodes of the bark slightly incised.
- Stacked shoots pinned, watered and covered with earth.
- In the summer periodically watered in the fall or spring dig.
- Divided by the number of rooted parts and planted for growing in fertile soil.
- A year later, the rose is planted in a permanent place.
Diseases and pests
- Park rose prone to powdery mildew. Leaves are covered with white bloom, shoots are bent.
- A shrub can infect bacterial cancer when growths form on the roots that block access to moisture and nutrients to the plant.
- Of the pests, the raspberry weevil and garden shrimp are the most damaging.
Careful care of garden beauties will allow you to fully realize how perfect can be decorating the site with rose bushes.
Description of the Rose Piano
The Piano variety is a compact bush up to 120 cm high. The crown is not very bulky (up to a meter in diameter). The plant consists of straight thick stems of red-brown shade. The foliage is thick, and the leaf plates themselves are glossy, dense green. The variety is a representative of the family of re-flowering, that is, it blooms 2 times per season for 3-5 weeks with a break of 1.5-2 months. Peony buds can be single or collected in inflorescences of 3-7 pieces. Flowering bush lasts until frost.
At the beginning of flowering buds look like regular balls and gradually open, acquiring the shape of a bowl. The outer petals are thicker and larger in area, while the inner ones (from 80 to 100 pcs.) Are thin and wavy. The color of the petals is very resistant to fading. During the entire period of flowering emit a gentle raspberry flavor. In cutting the flowers are about a week.
Piano Rose Description
Rose Piano is resistant to diseases typical for the family, easily tolerates frost. Buds and leaves are not injured by jets of rain and gusts of wind. The bright sun does not burn the petals of the buds.
Characteristics of the popular varieties of roses Piano
Rose hybrid tea Piano (Piano Tantau) has several very popular subspecies. Each of them is beautiful in its own way and each has its own admirers. Here are some of them:
- Rose Wedding Piano (Wedding Piano Rose). It is also sometimes called Rose Vending Piano or Wedding. The buds of the rose are white with a faint beige tint. Due to this quality, it looks good in compositions with colors of any shades.
- Rose Charming Piano (Rose Charming Piano). A distinctive feature of this variety in a combination of two different shades. Covering her petals are green, and the central light pink.
- Rose Piano Freeland. Rose buds rich red with burgundy border.
- Pink Piano Rose (Pink Piano Rose). Spherical large flowers of rose spray Pink Piano of cyclomen (deep pink) shade.
- Bridal Piano rose (or Bridal Piano rose). Flowers pink with a barely noticeable light green border.
Rose Pink Piano
- Happy Piano rose. Hue - something between pink and cyclamen. This subspecies more than others look like a peony.
- Rose Red (Red Piano). The outer petals of the buds are velvety dense maroon, and the middle is bright red.
Soil and planting
The variety was bred in Germany, so the agricultural technology is almost the same for the climate of Central Russia. It remains only to competently prepare the soil and choose a good place to plant.
This variety prefers light areas of the garden. At least 4 hours a day, the bush should be under the sun. Also it is necessary to be afraid of strong winds and constant drafts, but moderate ventilation for the bushes is a necessary condition.
Important! Before planting, the roots of the seedling should be kept 4 hours in a root formation stimulator, for example, epine.
Rose Piano prefers enriched with organic matter (humus, rotted leaves) loam or black soil. Drainage will help protect the roots from near groundwater. As a drainage layer, you can use river sand, expanded clay, small pebbles, crushed foam.
Planted new plants should be in wide pits. It is desirable that the dimensions were not less than one meter in width and half a meter in depth. There is nothing unusual about landing. The roots of the seedling are laid out and placed on the bottom of the hole (with a pre-lined drainage) and covered with fertile, prepared soil.
The final stage of planting a rose is abundant watering and mulching. As mulch you can use humus, dry needles, rotted foliage.
Top dressing and watering
Piano needs feeding three times a season. At the beginning of the growth phase, in the spring, nitrogen fertilizers are required, from June to September - calcium, phosphates and potassium (the latter in the fall). You can use the finished composition type azofoski, only perebarschiv not recommended, since an excess fertilizer leads to dropping leaves and buds.
Watering the bushes should be regular, not allowing the soil to dry. Overflow is also very dangerous. A young plant at once enough half a bucket of water, and an adult requires a bucket. Before watering it is advised to loosen and mulch the root zone of the bush.
Top dressing and watering
In order to protect the bushes from fungal infections, they should be treated with antifungal drugs (oxyhom, baktofit). Stimulants of root, epine or plant treatment with copper sulphate will help increase disease resistance. Mechanical cleansing of damaged buds and leaves will also help keep the rose healthy.
Pests on a rose
Despite the fact that hybrids are initially derived resistant to various kinds of defeats, Piano roses can sometimes be attacked by pests. The most dangerous enemies of roses are spider mites and aphids. Both can be seen firsthand. Если размеры поражения невелики, то можно воспользоваться мыльным раствором (200 г тертого мыла на 1 ведро воды). В противном случае помогут инсектициды типа актеллика, фитоверма.
Вредители на розе
Rose bushes can be pruned throughout the growing season, but formative pruning is carried out in early spring before sap flow begins in the branches. In this case, all branches are shortened by a third, sick and spoiled shoots are removed. In general, the bush is given a spherical shape. In the summer you should only support it, that is, cut out protruding branches, remove the flowering buds and stems without buds.
Given that all modern varieties obtained by breeding, the seeds get a similar plant will not work. It does not inherit parental qualities. For hybrids of roses, the most acceptable is reproduction by layering. The suitable time for this method is June. For rooting, choose the thickest and darkest shoots. Further, at a distance of 40-50 cm from the parent bush, a hole is dug out and a branch of a spear is pinned to the ground and covered with soil. It is necessary to ensure that the soil is always wet under the sprout.
By autumn, the plant is well rooted, but should be cut off from the mother bush only next spring. Let the young plant overwinter under the shelter in common with the parent bush.
Important! Pre-shallow cuts should be made at the site of future roots.
Sometimes for reproduction apply the method of grafting cultural cutting to the dog rose or division of the bush. The procedure is carried out in early spring (in April). Both of these methods do not guarantee the safety of species qualities.
